The Clear Future Financial Team

Craig R. Whitbeck, CFP®, AIF®

CEO, Wealth Manager

Craig prides himself in helping his clients make smart decisions about their money. For more than 30 years, he has been helping retirees, preretirees, professionals, educators, active families, and the newly single understand things like social security claiming strategies, 401(k) rollovers and how they relate to retirement income, their unique tax and estate planning options, what goes into refinancing their mortgage, how to take full advantage of their company-sponsored retirement plan, and the impact of their pension joint life income options.

Craig graduated from Eastern Washington University with a BA in business administration. Initially hired by Waddell & Reed, Inc., for a new Spokane office, he opened Clear Future Financial, LLC, in November 2003 and is affiliated with Commonwealth Financial Network®, member FINRA/SIPC, because he feels passionate about providing objective guidance to his clients. He enjoys breaking down complex subjects into simple and easily understandable concepts for his clients.

He earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner certification, and at age 27, was one of the youngest candidates to successfully complete the program. Holding the CFP® certification is important to the work that Craig does with his clients, as it means he maintains the necessary expertise to competently assess a client’s financial planning needs.

In 2009, Craig earned the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®) designation from Fi360, an organization offering training, tools, and resources to promote a culture of fiduciary responsibility and improve the decision-making processes of fiduciaries. The AIF® designation signifies knowledge of fiduciary responsibility and the ability to implement policies and procedures that meet a defined standard of care.

Craig and his wife, Tammy, recently became grandparents and enjoy traveling to Seattle and Denver to visit their sons (and families), boating on Liberty Lake, golfing, and bicycling adventures. Craig has completed six sprint triathlons and was seventh in his age group at the 2015 Tour de Scottsdale. Tammy was recently third in her age group in the Tour de Scottsdale bike race.

Their favorite family vacation was a cruise to Alaska that Craig took his wife and sons on several years ago, which easily rivaled Disneyland. The boys were teenagers, and they still talk about the fishing in Ketchikan (more like “catching”), Glacier Bay’s stunning size, kayaking in Juneau, and the food and entertainment on the ship.
